In an age of rapidly changing, competitive global markets, prospective managers have to contend with a constant flow of new challenges. This programme gives graduates the tools they need to deal with this aspect of their job. The university aims to provide you with comprehensive knowledge of tourism management and the leisure industry with a combination of valuable practical insights and key theoretical elements.
The early stages this programme are mainly devoted to general business topics such as marketing and accounting. In later semesters the focus of attention switches to more specific issues related to tourism product development, the tourism and leisure industry, finance and entrepreneurship. The programme is aimed particularly at students with an interest in business administration, cutting-edge management approaches, project management and implementation, and languages.
Students are given an opportunity to specialise in key tourism development areas such as Sports Tourism, Culture Tourism and Health & Spa Tourism
Programme content
Core modules: Initially the focus is on general business subjects, including marketing and accounting
Specialised Tourism Subjects: in later semesters the focus of attention switches to more specific aspects of tourism product development, the tourism and leisure industry, finance and entrepreneurship. The following key subjects are addressed: Event Management; Sports Tourism; Tourism Product Development; Cultural Tourism; Meeting Industry Management; Health and Spa Tourism; Sustainable Tourism Development; Destination Management
Languages: You will be required to select two of French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Chinese.
Information Technologies: Training in general IT (eg, Microsoft Office applications), as well as international reservation and bookings systems such as Galileo.
Soft Skills: learning techniques; Presentation techniques; Team building and strategies for personal success; negotiating and sales techniques
